Is it summer, yet? A girl can dream, right? And by dream I mean wear the jeans I have waiting for warmer weather around the office with open-toe sandals. This is the Wangler wide leg from Cheyann Benedict, a line I personally associate with beach days because its namesake designer is one of the original founders of the cult L.A. t-shirt company C&C California. For spring, Cheyann has introduced denim, and these Wanglers, with their bleach-splashed bottoms and chill fit, well, they’re making me want to get in the car and drive down the Pacific Coast Highway for fish tacos at Wahoo’s in Malibu. Like, now!

The name Wangler is a nod to Wranglers, which, being made for cowboys originally, were typically cut wider to fit over boots. But I like to wear my Wanglers with the t-straps my friend Sally gave me – souvenirs from a trip she took to Timbuktu to attend the traveling, music-heavy Festival in the Desert. Call it New Age L.A. voodoo non-sense, if you want, but I get a good vibe from the combination of these two pieces; I feel relaxed, easy-going, and festival-ready, too! Here’s to a summer that’s all about that.
